A few words from our staff:

“As a BV organizer:

Thank you to every team that participated this weekend. I hope you had fun and competitive matches. As an organizer, it was awesome to see the community that BV is building. From the BV babysitting club spearheaded by Jade and Jenna to badminton string artist Ian Loo,  there is something for everyone. It was great to see a mix of green shell, red shell, and blue shell teams this year along with some U19 teams. We saw young guns like James Ho from SBC – Firehawks and Aaron Lee from V.R. Shock bust out and win big games for their team.

Thanks to the teams for putting up with me rushing their line ups and rushing their games, sometimes incorrectly, and really thank you for self vigilating the team matches. While we are organizers, we love to play too much to just sit on the sideline, and it is because you guys and gals are so respectable to your opponents to allow games to run smoothly and for us to play too!

Congrats to the winner of the banquet prizes. Collin Yan took home the Yonex Voltric 70. Shoulda strung it and gave it to Jimmy when he broke his racquet! Hope everyone enjoyed the food and thanks for coming out.

As a spectator, I could not have hope for a better way to end the final matches of the tournament. It was a emotional intense showdown between the two best team in the tourney. Hugh Leung of Beyond avenged his lost last season to Vincent Teo of BDHL while Ros of BDHL exorcise some demons by winning both her matches in the finals. At the end, it came down to a third set mix doubles game between Hugh/Cynthia and Vincent/Veron. As spectators, we cheer, we cringe, we “oooo”, we “ahhh”, the caliber of play was amazing and the emotions on court was overwhelming.

Thank you all for another great season. If you want to share us your stories and pictures from the tournaments, you are more than welcome to do so, just send it over to me. As always, we love to hear from you and any suggestions in improving the tournaments. We are growing and learning and your voice will help!”
